Lake Baikal Diving Safaris, Dive Boats, Routes
OUR EXPERIENCE - 28 years of annual diving safaris!!!
Our first diving safari took place in 1988. Since that time we have been making multiple and various dives in the Baikal annually, learning about the lake more and more. Having 28 years of safari arrangement experience, we worked out our EXCLUSIVE PROGRAMMES for diving safaris. We proceeded from the seasonal approach - when it is the best time to see this or that place.
Would you like to see the Baikal seal? Watch bears? Dive with Lake Baikal baby seals (they are called b’elyoks - derived from the Russian for white - b’eliy - for their fur colour)? Make unique pictures? Study the Baikal microworld? Glide in the abyss along the grand walls of Lake Baikal? Dive in the canyons and grottos, look for artefacts of railway crashes? - Choose one of our programmes or let us tailor a safari in accord with your preferences. We love exclusive routes and new adventures!
What are the other features that make our safaris different?
WE DIVE A LOT!!! In every programme we make it a point to dive as often as possible. Our summer tours offer 3-5 dives a day; in winter time programmes - 2 dives a day. If you are focused on diving - then we are your best choice! If you’d rather dived a bit less - there are other activities planned for you.
VARIETY OF DIVE SITES. Even if the group consists of OWDs and just one tech diver (or visa versa) - we will select the dive sites interesting and appropriate for all. When planning the dives we will make every effort to take into account the group members’ level and their requirements.
WELL-PACKED SHORE EXPLORATION PROGRAMME. During our safaris we plan daily strolls of the shore apart from diving. Hikes to interesting places, barbeque on the shore, fishing or just relaxing. Our clients often travel with their family members and little children. While some of the group members are making a dive, the others are welcome to enjoy themselves on the shore. We tailor our programmes in such a way so that the non-divers feel themselves comfortable and busy.
ROUTE LENGTH. Even within our 4-5 day tours we travel 300-400 km in total. A 7 day safari - up to 1,000 km; Round Lake Baikal Programme route is up to 1,500 km! This means that apart from diving and on-the-shore programme you will see a variety of Lake Baikal landscapes and explore different diving areas. Such route length is unprecedented and yields only to that of polar cruises to the Arctic and Antarctica.
IMPORTANT!!! Every diving safari of the Baikal is an EXPEDITON. Diving in Lake Baikal is not simple and weather conditions can be quite severe. As a result of our perennial experience we came up with a set of diving rules and safety procedures which are efficient for Lake Baikal diving conditions. You can get more information on the diving peculiarities here.

(Vitia Liagushkin. Magazine "DIVETEK" №4 2007)
I was like everyone else,
Drank and worked in fields.
I have read Dao De Jing
And have understood: “I got caught!”
I have burned my penthouse,
I have checked the vines
And I got out to dance
In the fog over Yatszy.

People are followed by things to do,
People follow the money,
They try to escape shame and sadness.
And I follow, follow the fog,
The dreams and the smell of taiga.

Saloon of ship “Valeriya” is swaying quietly on the Baikal’s waves; the thoughts start moving quicker through the head hurried by the sound of the motor, and outside the illuminator there is only indescribable beauty. A thoughtful young man is sitting with his laptop, trying to lure in the muse and get some inspiration from her. This is probably the best time to start a ship journal about our adventures. So, get comfortable, pour yourself some tea, take a cookie, and listen.
